The picture postcard perfect village of Abbotsbury is situated between Bridport and Weymouth. It is situated a mile inland from the iconic Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon, and features a wealth of local businesses and attractions, such as Abbotsbury Swannery, Subtropical Gardens and Children’s Farm.

Abbotsbury is a picturesque Dorset village

The hills that shelter the village provide a warm microclimate, allowing many exotic and unusual species of plant to thrive at the Subtropical Gardens. The Fleet Lagoon provides sanctuary for a colony of nesting mute swans at Abbotsbury Swannery. In the village, you will find a post office, public houses, tea rooms, independent shops, art studios and much more. The village is served by the X53 bus route and, in the summer, the ‘Slow Coaster’ Bus.
