We have put in place measures to keep our visitors and staff safe during the Coronavirus pandemic. We can therefore safely allow a limited number of visitors into the Gardens in hourly slots. Please stay alert as you walk around the Gardens so that you maintain a minimum social distance. Please specify an estimated arrival hour below. This time slot does not mean that you have to leave the gardens at a certain time – you can take as long as you like. We just need to monitor the number of people entering the site at any given time.

The children’s play area is currently closed to the public. Please note that some areas may not be accessible depending on the weather.

This ticket is for visit to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, when booked in advance of a visit on a specific date. Please check opening times on the home page of this website before you book or visit. Opening times can vary owing to poor weather, private functions or unforeseen circumstances.

Children under 5 go free. Tickets for disabled visitors include a free ticket for one adult carer per paying disabled visitor.

The tickets below include our normal tickets at the top (adult, child (5-15) and children under 5), as well as free and discounted entry bookings below. If you aren’t sure what ticket type you require, please contact us.

Please note that although our last bookable slot is 2pm, the Gardens close at 4pm, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy what we have to offer.

Established in 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden for her nearby castle. Developed since then into a magnificent 20 acre garden filled with rare and exotic plants from all over the world. Many of these plants were first introductions to this country, discovered by the plant hunting descendants of the Countess.

The Garden is a mixture of formal and informal flowers, world famous for it’s Camellia groves and magnolias. Noted in Dorset for its Rhododendron and Hydrangea collections and the charming Victorian Garden.

Children visiting Abbotsbury attractions must be accompanied by a paying adult.

We accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers, but you must book a slot with us first. Please use the free ticket option above, and bring your vouchers with you when you visit.
